We're in!

What a roller coaster the last 2 weeks have been  We settled, did without any TV, phone or internet for a while, unpacked what seemed like a million boxes.  Sent to the salvos boxes and boxes of things we accumulated over 10 years of marriage that have not been touched since we moved into the rental property 2 years ago.  It feels like we are just starting to get settled and things are finding a home.  A few photos, but nothing is finished yet (at least to my standard of finished).

Nearly there!

Handover is on Friday - the house is looking amazing.  All the finishing touches are happening and the only major things to do are the shower screens and carpet.

I love it more everyday!

A small hiccup has led to an extra week before handover.  It doesn't matter in the scheme of things, but gee is she looking marvelous and I can't wait to love her from the inside!

Now we will handover on Friday July 6 .  Everybody is so busy, there is a flurry of trades everywhere.  Our tiles are in, toilets, taps, stone, garage doors.  Electricians are fitting off as we speak.  The only problem we have had through our whole build has been our floorboards. This is the one thing we organised ourselves and if I had my time again I would have gone with the builders guys.  They have held us up and been pretty uncooperative.  Warning to all - silly me paid them upfront (I knew after I did it what a mistake it was!)  I just hope these guys don't sour what has been a flawless build by BH Developments.

Anyway, some pictures of our beautiful abode (they are only a few days old and already so much more has happened):

I couldn't be more excited!

Everything is moving along - in fact we have been given our handover date as Friday June 29!  A mere 3 and a half weeks away!  The house is coming together beautifully.  Our builders have done such an amazing job, nothing is too much trouble.  I am so glad that we decided to go ahead with them, the experience thus far has been a breeze.  Nothing like all the horror stories you hear.

This week our stone is going in painting finishes and tiling begins.  Attached is the picture fest:

We've been plastered!

We've been plastered - and I can't believe the difference it makes to the space!  Everything feels so much bigger.

We've gone with square set (no cornice) in all our living areas and I'm so glad. It really makes our 10 foot ceilings stand out.  We also chose the CSR Jazz cornice for the bedrooms which I can't wait to see up.  Talking to the plasterer last week, he said they should be finished by Wednesday and hopefully the painter will get started with the ceilings.  Our floorboard installers are due to start Monday week, and I cannot wait to see our beautiful timber everywhere!

A few purchases.......

As time draws near, we're getting excited purchasing some of our fixtures and fittings and a couple of luxury items!

This weekend we bought the Roxie 3 Seater plus Narrow Chaise from BLR.  We've ordered it in Frost, which is greyish white (if that makes sense)  Should take about 14 weeks to be made - so hopefully we're already in the house when it's ready.

We also bought our feature light pendants for the Cathedral Ceiling and Dining Table.  We fell in love with the Marcel Wanders Skygarden Pendants, but must confess we bought the replicas, as the $5K for each original was definitely going to stretch the budget.

She's locked up and she's gorgeous!

I am so wrapt to have the house locked up.  I drove past this morning after paying the lock up invoice and our site manager was on site.  He told me the Electrician is starting tomorrow and plaster will start next week.  Can't wait for it to start looking as gorgeous inside as out!  Hopefully handover is on track for mid to late June.
